When you buy a beat on LogBeatz you get a license from the producer to use that beat in your own music. The producer keeps the copyright in the beat unless you buy an Exclusive license. This page explains what each license lets you do.
Words used on this page
- Producer: the person who made the beat and sells it on LogBeatz.
- Artist or you: the person who buys the license.
- Beat: the instrumental you license, including any files delivered with it.
- New song: a recording you make by adding your own vocals, lyrics or performance to the beat.
Rules for every license
- The license starts when your MoMo payment is confirmed and the order shows as Paid.
- You may use the beat only inside a new song. You may not resell, share, upload or give away the beat on its own, with or without changes.
- You must credit the producer as “Prod. by [producer name]” in the song title or description wherever it is released.
- You own the lyrics and vocals you write and perform. The producer owns the beat (except under an Exclusive license).
- You may not register the beat itself with a content-ID system (such as YouTube Content ID) as your own work.
- Each license is for one new song. Using the same beat for another song needs another license.
- The license cannot be transferred to someone else without the producer's written permission.
MP3 Lease
For demos, mixtapes and streaming.
- Files: one MP3 file of the beat.
- Release the new song on streaming services, social media and YouTube.
- Up to 100,000 combined streams and up to 2,000 paid downloads or sales.
- One music video, not monetized.
- Live performances at shows where you are paid.
- Not included: radio broadcast, use in films, adverts or TV.
WAV Lease
For official releases.
- Files: the full-quality WAV file (and an MP3).
- Everything in the MP3 Lease, plus:
- Up to 1,000,000 combined streams and up to 10,000 paid downloads or sales.
- Radio broadcast on up to 2 stations.
- One monetized music video.
- Not included: use in films, adverts or TV without the producer's written permission.
Exclusive
Full ownership of how the beat is used.
- Files: the full-quality file and the stems (separate tracks), when the producer has uploaded them.
- No limits on streams, sales, radio, videos or commercial use, including film, TV and adverts.
- The beat is removed from LogBeatz as soon as your payment is confirmed. The producer will not sell new licenses for it.
- Licenses sold before your purchase stay valid until they reach their own limits.
- The producer keeps the right to be credited, and keeps a share of songwriting/publishing as the composer of the beat unless you agree otherwise in writing.
Packs and plugins
Sound packs, drum kits, presets, MIDI and plugins bought on LogBeatz come with a royalty-free license from the seller.
- Use the sounds in your own songs, beats and productions, released anywhere, with no royalties to pay.
- Do not resell, share or give away the sounds or presets on their own, or put them in another pack.
- Plugins are licensed to you, the buyer, for your own computers. Do not share installers or license keys.
- Check the formats and systems listed (VST3, AU, Windows, macOS) before buying. Refunds for packs and plugins follow the rules below.
- The seller promises they own the rights to everything they sell, with no uncleared samples or cracked software.
Going over your limits
If your song passes the limits of your lease, upgrade it. Contact the producer through their page; they can sell you a WAV Lease or an Exclusive license for the same beat, usually for the price difference.
Problems and refunds
Because files are downloadable as soon as you pay, licenses are not refundable once a file has been downloaded. If a file is missing, damaged or not what was described, tell the producer and LogBeatz within 7 days and we will fix it or refund you.
The producer promises that the beat is their own work and does not contain samples they are not allowed to use. If a beat breaks someone else's rights, LogBeatz removes it and refunds affected buyers.
